The one thing to understand first: zones
We ran identical quotes (1 traveller, 8 days) from different departure countries to different destinations. The result: your price depends on the destination zone, not where you fly from. Vietnam → France and Thailand → France returned the exact same numbers. Myanmar → Thailand and Thailand → Singapore also matched each other.
| Route (8 days, 1 traveller) | Zone | Plan 1 | Plan 2 | Plan 3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Myanmar → Thailand | Zone 1 | $19 | $29 | $32 |
| Thailand → Singapore | Zone 2 | $19 | $29 | $32 |
| Thailand → France (Schengen) | Zone 3 | $21 | $36 | $70 |
| Vietnam → France (Schengen) | Zone 3 | $21 | $36 | $70 |
Two takeaways from this table:
- Southeast Asia trips are cheap across all plans — even the top-tier Plan 3 costs about $4/day or less within Zone 1-2.
- The big jump happens at Zone 3 Plan 3 — $70 vs $32 for the same 8 days. Schengen-bound travellers on a budget get nearly identical value from Plan 2; see our plan comparison before paying for Plan 3.
Longer trips get much cheaper per day
Duration data from the Zone 3 quotes (Plan 2, 1 traveller):
| Trip length | Total | Per day |
|---|---|---|
| 8 days | $36 | $4.50/day |
| 15 days | $45 | $3.00/day |
| 30 days | $60 | $2.00/day |
A 30-day policy costs 55% less per day than an 8-day one. If your itinerary might stretch, buy the longer duration upfront — the policy must be purchased before your trip starts, so you can't top up mid-trip as easily as you'd think.

Three more pricing facts from the quote form
- Per-traveller pricing, no group discount — a quote for 2 travellers showed exactly 2× the single price, itemised per person.
- "8 days" includes both arrival and departure day — 1 Sep depart, 8 Sep return = 8 days. Count both ends when estimating.
- The quote step doesn't ask age — age (eligible range: 4 weeks to 75 years) is collected later at the traveller-information step, and didn't change the displayed quote in our tests.
Which plan should you pick?
Quick version: Plan 1 clears the Schengen visa minimum (medical up to USD 50,000 — above the €30,000 requirement) with nothing else. Plan 2 adds baggage, travel documents and personal liability. Plan 3 is the only plan with trip cancellation cover (USD 2,000) and doubles medical to USD 200,000. Full breakdown: LUMA World Pass plans compared.
